It felt that time had passed so very quickly since David and Philippa booked us as their Derbyshire wedding photographers back in early 2011. Now their special day had come and we had the bizarre spring weather of this year on our side! The morning started for me at Philippa’s mums house, the girls all busy tending to their make up and having their hair styled so perfectly. That morning Philippa decided to change the styling of her hair, changing from a side vintage inspired bun to what we all thought was something beautiful and so very complementing to her dress, which was also bespoke for Philippa.
The morning was relaxed and fun, the dress maker had arrived to steam and help the girls get into their dresses, it was just the 3 of us in the room as Philippa slipped into her dress. I know Philippa from a company that we used to both work for quite some time ago, so as she popped her dress on and gave that look in the mirror, the ‘eeek I’m in my dress’ look then even I found myself with a little teary eye. Then one by one the bridesmaids popped their heads around the door, and it all got very exciting and a little emotional! It wasn’t long after that Philippa, dad and the girls drove off in their vintage car for her and David’s Priest House wedding.
After a beautiful ceremony Philippa and David took a drive to celebrate and the guests enjoyed a drink, the rain stopped for a while and we used the stunning grounds of the Priest House for photographs before they went through to enjoy their reception.
The evening reception then moved down to the Garden Suite and once more guests had arrived David and Phillipa enjoyed their first dance together.
Philippa and David, it was wonderful to capture your wedding day, it’s been lovely to catch up with you both once again and see you marry. We wish you all the very happiness together, Neil & Becky x
