I first met Alistair and Laura at a wedding fair when they chose us as their Derbyshire wedding photographers. I quickly found what a wonderfully warm couple they are are. Through out the whole wedding planning journey I’ve grown so very very fond of their gentle nature and excitement for their special day at what has to be one of the nation’s favorites. It was wonderful to hear that Alistair and Laura had been in contact with some of the fabulous suppliers that we work alongside and to truly complement their day, they had booked Tineke Floral Designs for bouquets and venue decoration and to arrive at Chatsworth in the timeless beauties from Dennison Classic Cars.
It was a late afternoon wedding and as Neil and I drove to Chatsworth the windscreen wipers were swishing ten to the dozen, as we drove we hoped, that we’d turn the corner and like a glorious seen from a movie the grey sky would lift and the sun and blue skies would shine. It didn’t quite happen that way, but this is Britain and the villages and wonder of Chatsworth estate shone and although wet and grey it was magical.
As I greeted Laura and Alistair separately at the hotel, they were so full of excitement and Jo and Peter from Dennison Cars did the most fabulous job of getting them all off to the ceremony under cover. The registrar was a treat too, a memorable chap with a nice humor and very personable. After the ceremony we were in quite a frequent situation for this Summer of being faced with the rain. But amazingly we were offered five minutes inside the gallery of Chatsworth House, it was getting late, the last visitors were now just starting to vacate the gift shop and we were given permission to spend a short time with access to what felt like we’d just got a gold ticket to go inside Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.
On our return to the reception we were able to capture the group images inside the wonderful court yard area of the old stables, before heading inside the reception room for dinner and speeches.
Laura & Alistair, we wish you both such a very happy lifetime together. It was such a memorable day and one will continue to remember, thank you so very much for asking us to become a part of your day. Neil & Becky xx
