Nottingham Wedding Photography in Hoveringham

Just finding time to sit down and catch up with some blogging, so we’ll be posting some more wonderful weddings from 2011.  It was back at the start of Autumn last year that Richard and Laura got married.  They chose us as their Nottingham wedding photographers after seeing us at a friend’s wedding in 2009 and they’d kept our details ever since.

The morning started at Laura’s parents house with the girls, they’d returned from the hairdressers and with the help of bridesmaid Gemma were having make up done.  Just a stone’s throw away down the road was the church, where the guys were arriving and Neil was photographing them and the early guests.  Although just a very short drive Laura arrived thankfully as the rain paused for a little while and then made a wonderful walk down the aisle.

Whilst Laura and Richard exchanged their vows, the rain went from pause to play and pattered down heavy against the old church roof.  As I watched from the front I could see heads tilt upwards and silent thoughts of ‘listen to that!’ again as if by magic as the church doors opened the rain paused once more and then after a few more threats it stopped.

It was a little longer drive from the church to Hoveringham village for the reception, first of all with a stop off by the river.  as we followed the bridal car the London bus took the guests, with folk enjoying being upstairs looking out of the front window as if on their first ever school trip.

Once we’d arrived in the village we took a stroll with Laura and Richard who’d made prior arrangement to go into the grounds of one of the residents beautiful gardens for some more photographs.  We then went inside the village hall and Neil disappeared to take photographs of the reception room and cake, whilst I took documentary style photographs of the guests.  On Neil’s return his word’s were ‘wow, it’s amazing in there’.  What was a village hall by day had been transformed into a beautiful reception room, Laura’s aunty who’s a florist had created the most wonderful tall floral centrepieces which along with the creative table decorations and fresh linen produced a real wow factor.

Outside the hall was a team working hard cooking crispy crackling pork, to be served by nominated chefs at each table.  With a presentation box filled with apron and chefs hat, the job of head of table was not taken lightly, yet was great fun for the guests.

After dinner the room was cleared and the ceilidh band started, there were very few shy to try the dancing and when we left the room was literally in full swing.

Laura and Richard, your excitement about your wedding day is one that I shall always remember.  It was an excitement not only for this special day but for the thought of being married to each other forever.  We hope you had the most amazing adventure travelling in Australia and we wish you all the happiness together in your new home.  Neil & Becky xx

Worksop Nottinghamshire Wedding Photography

It was the last wedding of 2011 that we captured and it was bursting with some wonderful emotion and fun! I met Becca at a vintage wedding fair, I later met Simon and they booked us as their Nottingham wedding photographers. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know them both, their Nottingham engagement shoot at Clumber Park was so much fun!

Rebecca and Simon’s wedding day began for us as I joined Becca in the suite of their wedding venue, Clumber Park Hotel.  Becca was really chilled, calm but so very very excited! Her dress hung on the four poster, the detail of it was wonderful and with her gorgeous head-piece I could see how perfectly ‘Becca’ it all was.  Another special item for her was a stunning blue garter made by a dear friend for her, it was the prettiest garter I’ve ever seen …… and I’ve seen a few!  We both giggled whilst she was showing me the garter at how fabulous it is to have fiends ‘who can craft!’.

At various stages we popped downstairs and Becca showed me all the details, the wood cut snowflakes on the chair cover sashes, the hand cut reindeer table plan, the pine cones that she’d been collecting off trees in her garden and many other wonderful details. Becca made sure everything was ‘just right’ as she saw her vision come to fruition.  Meanwhile Neil had joined Simon and the guys, including Becca & Simon’s little boy.

Becca’s mum helped her get in to her dress and a special moment was seeing dad tieing the bow on the back.  It all then was a little emotional as the bridesmaids arrived back in the suite and everyone looked proudly on to Becca.

As it was time to walk down the aisle the ceremony room was lit by lanterns, and as Becca and Simon we’re back together again they cried and they laughed and then they cried some more at the personal readings by friends and family.

After Simon and Becca joined to become Mr & Mrs Sargison-Bowler, everyone headed for a celebratory drink! Santa made a quick appearance to give presents for the children and older boys!

The speeches after dinner once again bought lots of happy emotional moments and a lot of laughter from the years in photographs. Then followed the sweetie bar and first dance, which was a real treat, starting with a little traditional moves then breaking into a medley of songs which brought true entertainment to the dance floor.  It was the real finale for us of our year of 2011 weddings, so fun to watch and capture through our lens.

Becca and Simon, what a beautiful family you have, you are true soul mates and it has been a total pleasure to get to know you both and capture this very happy journey of your marriage.  May you keep making each other smile and creating that odd tear or two of happiness.

If you’ve recently got engagement and are planning your wedding, or would like more information on wedding photography at Clumber Park Hotel, please get in touch ….. we’d love to hear from you.

Nottingham Wedding Photographers 2011

WOW, what can we say, its goodbye 2011 and hello 2012.  What an AMAZING year it has been for us, we’ve seen and captured 39 wonderful couples getting married, followed them on their fabulous journey and felt touched by each individual wedding.

As Nottingham wedding photographers we’ve photographed many of these weddings here, with lots also in Derby and travelled a little further for a scorching hot day on the Scarborough sea front and then south to a lush Kent vineyard.

So here is a little look back on 2011 with an image from each of these magical days, we look back with fond memories on each one and wish all of our newly married couples a very, very happy 2012.

From time to time our couples sometimes prefer to keep their wedding images private to them and their family, so we’ve included a little detail shot from their wedding.
