A Thrumpton Hall Wedding

Take one beautiful couple named Lorna & Paul, add a big piece of local history now owned by writer Miranda Seymour called Thrumpton Hall, listen to live foot tapping music by jazz band Mad Dog & The Sophisticats and share with family and friends.  It was the perfect recipe for a wonderful wedding day.

The morning started with Neil joining the guys at All Saints Church in Thrumpton village, while I joined Lorna at her parents home while her and the girls got ready.  After a service that included many smiles the newly wedded couple and guests filled out onto the sunny grass outside the church and were joined by the jazz band, who literaly just appeared from the heart of the village.

Just a short distance away the celebrations then began within the grounds of Thrumpton Hall, in the sunshine it was in all its 16th century splendor.  Everyone enjoyed drinks and canapes in the rose garden, followed by dinner in the marquee with entertainment from the band.  A hillariously fun version of ‘I am the music man’ played by the jazz band and sung by all the guests ended the wedding breakfast, I have to say I’ve never seen the top table miming out ‘pia’ ‘pia’ ‘piano’ ….. ‘piano’ before!

After dinner we took a walk with Lorna and Paul around the garden and lake, the early evening sun going down was really something special.  It was then time for the dancing to start and their journey of Mr & Mrs to begin.

Lorna & Paul, we’ve loved being part of your wedding day,  we wish you all the love, happiness and laughter together.  Neil & Becky xx

“I am the music man, I come from down your way and I can Play, what can you play?

I play the Piano …… Pia, Pia, Piano, Piano, Piano”
