Butterworth Photography captures Claire and Peter wedding at East Lodge Derbyshire
Claire and Peter got in touch after booking Kerry from Tineke Floral Designs who put together the beautiful bouquets and flower decorations, we have worked together on a number of weddings in 2011, so look out for more of these weddings to come this year too.
Claire booked a consultation and I popped to see them both as they were flying home back to Australia the next day, they had seen a few photographers but not clicked with any of them so I felt privileged that they had booked me there and then.
As the wedding approached we meet at East Lodge to discuss the wedding day plans and to photograph their engagement shoot.
For those who have not been to East Lodge Hotel, it is set in 10 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, it is the nearest hotel to Chatsworth House and recently voted Britain’s finest stately home. East Lodge is very close to the Peak District National park, Derbyshire.
As I arrived on the wedding day walking into reception I saw Peter all relaxed chilling in the bar area with friends and family both bride and groom was staying in the same place but different rooms, it must be hard knowing you’re so close and not being able to see each other. This was to be an extra special wedding for me to capture as as it was mine and Becky’s wedding anniversary of 12 years and Becky was photographing Amy and Henry’s wedding.
Claire, family and bridesmaids were all getting ready in two of the luxury 4 poster bedrooms and with 5 bridesmaids I have to say it was quite tidy. Claire and the Bridesmaid looking stunning as Claire’s mum and dad came in to see her for the first time in her wedding dress, the photographs show how hard it was hold the tears back.
The guests started to arrive with Peter greeting them outside in the gardens where the wedding was going to take place, even the weather was behaving, overcast but warm. Claire’s room overlooked the gardens and she could not resist peeking out to have a look at everyone which added to the excitement.
With all in place Peter waited at the archway to the arbor and Claire walked down the red carpet aisle with very proud dad in arm. As Peter and Claire stood side by side they both had to fight back the tears of emotion and feelings for each other. In Peter’s words ”don’t look at each other or we’re gonna blubber”.
The rest of the day was awesome everyone having a great time and later in the day with the strong English and Australian connections the cricket bats came out but it quickly became battle of the sexes boys vs girls who knows who really won the match with the dodgy rules and scoring which was going on, but I think it’s fair to say Claire and Peter were the real winners, fabulous couple, friends and family.
Wishing you all the best for the future Neil & Becky xx
