I was so excited to catch up with Alex and Kat for their engagement session at Elvaston Castle, we’ve got to know them quite well since Alex’s brother Jamie & wife Kelly had their Draycott House wedding day. It was very wet on the ground the day of the engagement session, so armed with wellies and big smiles we enjoyed a nice stroll around the grounds of Elvaston Park.

Their wedding day will be featured here on the blog very soon, and in contrast to the flooded fields their wedding day took place on what felt like the first day of Spring in Derbyshire!

We were very excited to capture the Chinese wedding of Hannah and Michael at Oulton Hall in Leeds, it started with early morning bridal preparations in Hannah’s room at the beautiful Oulton Hall.  The room was a hive of activity as the girls were getting ready, meanwhile Neil was capturing Michael and all his grooms men arrive.  The games before the ceremony between the boys and girls were fab to capture, which are traditional before the groom gets to meet his bride before they marry.  They were so much fun, we both were laughing buckets as we photographed them!

The wedding ceremony took place down the grand staircase and in one of the suites overlooking the Oulton Hall gardens. We had a really tiny window of a dry spell, before the heavens truly opened and didn’t then close for the remainder of the day.  After reception drinks and photographs at Oulton Hall, everyone then headed over for the reception dinner at Oriental City, with Hannah and Michael driving in the Porsche Speedster.  With the restaurant filled with guests, over a period of two dinner sittings included celebrations with 600 wedding guests.  With so much to capture and traditional celebrations to the day, we felt very privileged to be a part of it all.  Hannah and Michael are a wonderful couple and with a total of 4 stunning dress changes, Hannah looked amazing wearing each style.

Hannah and Michael we wish you great happiness, thank you dearly for inviting us to capture the memories for you, and to you for giving us such fond memories of your wedding day.

We always love being involved in wedding projects and when asked to photograph Vicki Marriott hairdressing and Longfield View makeup promotional images of course we said yes!

It’s always a great pleasure to be rejoined by past brides, and as part of the model team Beth joined our project.  We photographed Beth and Tom’s wedding last year it was one of the more hotter weddings days of the year, if you would like to view Beth and Tom’s wedding at the Priest House or their Engagement shoot at Bradgate Park click on the links.

Vicki from VM Hairdressing creates fabulous wedding hair styles (as you can see from the images), working alongside makeup artist Gail Berry of Longfield View, they are a fabulous team to have on any wedding day!  The gorgeous dresses were provided for us by the wonderful ladies of Timeless Couture.

Our project gave us another opportunity to photograph at East Lodge, you are always greeted with a very warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere with outstanding hospitality, thus makes East Lodge a haven of peace and tranquillity set in stunningly beautiful Peak District National park!  We think East Lodge is perfect for your wedding, as one of the leading Derbyshire and Peak District wedding venues.

It was during the break between Christmas and New Year that John and Charlotte enjoyed their special day.  Bridal preparations were fun with the girls upstairs of this beautiful Palladian style Georgian country house. The flower girls were really excited about being princesses for the day and Charlotte’s dress was absolutely stunning and she looked amazing!

John was waiting for Charlotte in the ceremony room, the old 1776 Grand Ballroom where they married and later along with their guests had a great time during the reception and later on for the evening celebrations.  The flower girls and page-boy were delighted with their Build A Bear bridesmaids and everyone had a good chuckle at the speeches.

Charlotte and John we wish you all the happiness for the future, it was a real pleasure capturing your wedding day and seeing you both get wed! Becky   x x
