Norwood Park Wedding Photography

Norwood Park was the perfect Nottingham wedding venue for Vicky and Sam’s wedding day.  This amazingly beautiful Georgian country house with elegant period features would be a hot favourite if we were to have our wedding day once more!

The day started for me at Vicky’s parents house just a short drive from where she was to meet and marry Sam that day at St Mary’s Church in Attenborough .  I arrived as they’d returned from the hairdressers, eager and excited to all get in their dresses, the bridesmaids dressed first including the new edition of a beautiful necklace presented to them as a gift from Sam & Vicky.  As a special sentimental gift Vicky’s parents had given her the most stunning necklace as a birthday present, as she excitedly opened the box to show me, it was evident that this was to be cherished forever.

As the finishing touches to lip gloss, slipping on of shoes and final pieces of hair were put into place the familiar hum of a car pulled up outside.  Peering through the window I recognised their chauffeur to be Peter, and behind him was Charlotte a beautiful classic blue Daimler V8, just one of Peter & Jo’s four classic’s of Dennison Classic Cars.   On this bright blue skied sunny day, it was he final piece to a perfect puzzle.

After driving the bridesmaids to church, Peter returned for Vicky and ‘Dad’ making that all special journey together.  We met them as they arrived and followed them to the door, before they stepped down the aisle, from this moment Sam’s smile grew even more and I never saw it fade from then on that day.

After the ceremony we all stepped out of the church and strolled via a fountain of confetti to a local residents lawn for some photographs to include the church in the backdrop.  From here it was back inside the Daimler for Vicky and Sam,to drive over to Norwood Park.

Once at Norwood the guests were greeted in the magnificent entrance with drinks and they then spilled outside to enjoy a very British country garden atmosphere, with the sound of a string quartet in the background and the noise of the odd game of croquet and clatter of giant jenga pieces.

With the help of Sam’s best men the group photographs went quickly and we could then capture moments of the guests relaxing and Sam & Vicky having some photographs in and around the hall. Just a few moments before dinner I headed upstairs to grab a shot of everyone and then we all headed over to the Gallery and Courtyard which looked picture perfect with fresh flowers on the tables.

After a delicious meal it was time for people to relax in the courtyard, Pesky Alligators were all set to play through the evening but to start everything off Sam’s friend played and sang for everyone, it got the party started, and what was an English country garden wedding turned into the hive of an early evening buzz of a European city, warm weather, music, the rustic scenery of the converted stables and the noise of children playing and adult chatter. For this I felt it was one of the most atmospheric evening receptions I had witnessed.

Before cutting the cake Sam played a piece of music on his guitar as a surprise for Vicky that he had written for her, a  really fabulous personal touch.  After the cake was cut the dancing started and the atmosphere just got even bigger!

Mr & Mrs Parker, thank you, your wedding day was beautiful to be a part of, it was clear to see just how much this day meant to you both, your smiles for one another told us all and we wish you all the happiness, and smiles for the future together.

I’d like to say a very big thank you to Tracy from Norwood Park, she was a real gem on the day, ensuring that everything was all good for us, it really added to our experience at Norwood and touches like this create that extra special service for couples.
