Stubton Hall Wedding Styled Shoot

A short time ago we teamed up with a fabulous group of Nottingham’s finest wedding suppliers, for a project to capture some new images for a Nottingham wedding couture bridal boutique. Our stunning venue for the day was Stubton Hall a 19th Century country house set in the lovely countryside on the borders of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, just a little drive away from the market town of Newark.

During our time at Stubton Hall we captured a few different looks and style of dresses all modeled beautifully by Klaire (Paper me Happy)  and Chloe (Adore by Chloe). Klaire had also provided the wonderfully hand crafted paper bouquets and butterflies that hung from the windy tree branches.

Vicki created some stunning hair styles for us, a mix of vintage chic with Laura applying elegant makeup.  Karen of Darby & Joan styled our afternoon tea table with lots of vintage delights which were perfect along side the cake and cake pops by Natalie.

So here’s how the shoot all came together ….

Nottingham Wedding Photography in Hoveringham

Just finding time to sit down and catch up with some blogging, so we’ll be posting some more wonderful weddings from 2011.  It was back at the start of Autumn last year that Richard and Laura got married.  They chose us as their Nottingham wedding photographers after seeing us at a friend’s wedding in 2009 and they’d kept our details ever since.

The morning started at Laura’s parents house with the girls, they’d returned from the hairdressers and with the help of bridesmaid Gemma were having make up done.  Just a stone’s throw away down the road was the church, where the guys were arriving and Neil was photographing them and the early guests.  Although just a very short drive Laura arrived thankfully as the rain paused for a little while and then made a wonderful walk down the aisle.

Whilst Laura and Richard exchanged their vows, the rain went from pause to play and pattered down heavy against the old church roof.  As I watched from the front I could see heads tilt upwards and silent thoughts of ‘listen to that!’ again as if by magic as the church doors opened the rain paused once more and then after a few more threats it stopped.

It was a little longer drive from the church to Hoveringham village for the reception, first of all with a stop off by the river.  as we followed the bridal car the London bus took the guests, with folk enjoying being upstairs looking out of the front window as if on their first ever school trip.

Once we’d arrived in the village we took a stroll with Laura and Richard who’d made prior arrangement to go into the grounds of one of the residents beautiful gardens for some more photographs.  We then went inside the village hall and Neil disappeared to take photographs of the reception room and cake, whilst I took documentary style photographs of the guests.  On Neil’s return his word’s were ‘wow, it’s amazing in there’.  What was a village hall by day had been transformed into a beautiful reception room, Laura’s aunty who’s a florist had created the most wonderful tall floral centrepieces which along with the creative table decorations and fresh linen produced a real wow factor.

Outside the hall was a team working hard cooking crispy crackling pork, to be served by nominated chefs at each table.  With a presentation box filled with apron and chefs hat, the job of head of table was not taken lightly, yet was great fun for the guests.

After dinner the room was cleared and the ceilidh band started, there were very few shy to try the dancing and when we left the room was literally in full swing.

Laura and Richard, your excitement about your wedding day is one that I shall always remember.  It was an excitement not only for this special day but for the thought of being married to each other forever.  We hope you had the most amazing adventure travelling in Australia and we wish you all the happiness together in your new home.  Neil & Becky xx
