Prestwold Hall Wedding Photography

It was a glorious sunny day for us Nottingham wedding Photographers as we travelled just a little way in to Leicestershire for the Prestwold Hall wedding of Sally & Danny. It feels nice to post this now as the cold weather arrives, a piece of blue sky on a day where they’ve turned wintry white and grey. After their Prestwold Hall engagement shoot I’d got to know Sally and Danny so well, we’d explored Prestwolds gardens and I’d got a real understanding of what they’d hoped from their wedding day.

As I arrived at Sally’s parent’s house I remember being greeted like an old friend, the buzz of excitement with a dash of emotion filled the air, it was evident that this was a proud and emotional day for Sally’s mum and dad. I observed as it happened capturing images using our documentary wedding photography style, taking in the moments of Sally making that first look in the mirror once she’d popped into her dress.  It started with the clasp to the waist of her dress, the breathe and thought of ‘OMG, I’m a bride’ then a look ‘Yeh, this feels so good’.  Sally’s look was completed by the amazing flowers created by Kerry at Tineke Floral Designs.

It was an emotional moment for Sally’s dad as she made it down the stairs, it was then out into the Nottingham sunshine before getting in the Jag’s to travel to their Leicestershire church to get married.  I remember Sally & Danny’s wedding ceremony for its calm and quiet (except the singing parts!) the church was quiet as the vows and words of the minister were spoken, I even took a glance around to see if there were children amongst the guests, and there was, just seen and not heard.  Everyone was just watching and taking it all in, like a good movie on the TV.

Once Sally & Danny had officially become Mr & Mrs Ireland, everyone walked to Danny’s parents house which was just down the lane.  With a fabulous garden filled with lanterns and bottles of Moet, the celebrations started.  With my ace associate photographer Wayne we captured some relaxed photographs of the wedding party and then the occasional requested group photo as we mingled amongst the guests.  After an hour or so of drinks and chatting the coach and Jag’s drove everyone to Prestwold Hall for a quick drink, and relax before some very touching speeches and dinner.

After dinner Sally & Danny walked around Prestwolds gardens, we took some photographs as we went and it was a nice time for a little Summer fresh air before the evening guests arrived and the party started.  I left them a little while after their first dance, with a room full of happy guests after what had been a truly wonderful day.

Sally & Danny, I’m so very delighted you chose us as your wedding photographers.  I’ve loved getting to know you both, seeing your wedding plans develop into a beautiful wedding day.  We wish you all the love, fun and great happiness together.  xxx
