We were both truly delighted to be capturing the wedding day of Kris and Louisa at the weekend. We met them at the Norwood Park wedding of Andy and Alex in July 2012. Ever since then we’ve been excited with them along their wedding planning journey!
The wedding day began with Becky joining the girls and dad (with and possibly without his glasses) at Kris and Louisa’s home. It was very relaxed, calm, and well lovely really. Meanwhile Neil had joined the guys just a stones throw from our home at Kris’ parents house, I’m sure now we’ll recognise them when at our local Tesco!
Louisa was driven to the ceremony with dad in the magnificent classic old english white Jaguar MK2 ‘Duey’, expertly chauffeured by Jo of Dennison Cars. I caught Jo with offerings of mints and importantly a bottle of water for her vip guests during the ride. A great extra touch I felt on such a warm day.
As we were set ready for Louisa’s entrance to walk down the aisle, Neil capturing the moments from the back of the ceremony and me from the front, the music started to play, and looking through the lens, I could see as the lyrics of the song played, Kris desperately tried to hold back those tears,
“… I will not let anything take away what’s standing in front of me, every breath, every hour, has come to this”
but they won, and created an emotional entrance which told the story of how proud and truly happy Kris was to be marrying his true love.
As everyone spilled out of the ceremony room the sun shone very brightly and shortly after we jumped in golf buggies and headed for some safe ground for photographs, stopping occasionally for the odd tee off. We then returned Kris and Louisa back to their guests before the wedding breakfast. After dinner the light change beautifully thanks to a burst of heavy rain and as the sun went down, another little opportunity for a couple of extra photographs.
The day was as always one we’ll remember fondly, and very special to us to have been a part of this magical journey. Thank you Louisa and Kris, and to your friends and family, we wish you great happiness and lots of laughter and love … for a thousand years. Neil & Becky xx
