‘Oh so very lovely’ is how I’d quickly sum up Saturday, It was a wedding that not only joined Alena and Des together but it really brought two families together. I’d only just got to know Alena and Des not even 3 weeks before their wedding day, their original photographer had let them down and I’d been recommended to them, I was very happy that on her day Alena said it had been fate that she’d found us!
I started the morning with Alena and her make-up artist, it was beautifully calm and there was just the 3 of us for a little while and then it all got a little emotional when a fabulous display of flowers arrive at the door on behalf of Des, telling Alena he loved her loads ‘and don’t be late!’. A little later on the house became a buzz of activity as the bridesmaids and some family arrived and everyone finished getting ready. I’ll also say at this stage a bit ‘well done’ to Vince, he’s Alena’s brother and fearful of the fact he’d end up wearing a plaster cast to give his sister away on her wedding day he’d avoided going to the hospital to have what seemed to be a broken foot seen to, hopefully now he’s been and got it fixed!!! Once ready a beautiful vintage style minibus and horse and carriage came to take everyone to Attenborough Church, a gorgeous place where Des and the boys had met up with Neil to have some images of the guys before the gals arrived!!
The ceremony was beautifully personal and the minister was fabulous, with music of the Vicar of Dibley as requested by her and a game of ‘Play your cards right’ mid service it added a wonderful tweak to the ceremony and great story about the king and queen of hearts. After the service it was off for the celebrations at the Village Hotel & Leisure Club in Chilwell, the room looked amazing and everyone was well looked after! Following dinner it was through to an entertainment room, with play casino and caricature artist then the first dance after which I had a big hug goodbye.
Alena and Des, I’m so happy that fate brought us together, you have created such a wonderful new family, I could see so well how everyone knows just how much you were both made for each other. We wish you every happiness in all the footsteps you take together as Mr & Mrs, I know you are truly the King & Queen of Hearts!!! Neil & Becky xxx
