Our first Shottle Hall wedding of 2011 took place last weekend, it was a sunny Sunday that was to be the day Christie and Darren became the new Mr & Mrs Fletcher. They chose Shottle Hall, an idyllic country estate situated on the edge of the Peak District national park for it’s beauty …. it certainly is a special place.
As Derby wedding photographers we captured the day as Darren and the guys arrived, excited yet relaxed, the boys greeted guests as they began to walk up the drive leading to the hall. A little while later the bridesmaids arrived followed by Christie in a big dashing Bentley. Christie & Darren married inside Shottle Hall in their elegant lounge, built in 1861 the hall has many stunning features and provided a romantic place nestled in a tranquil part of Derbyshire for a great wedding. With thoughtfully chosen readings the ceremony was personal to Christie & Darren and as they walked out as Mr & Mrs their friends and guests shared the great happiness!
The wedding celebrations then started outside the front of the big Victorian country house, with so many luxurious areas for people to relax and celebrate in it was the perfect wedding venue. We took a walk around the landscaped gardens to capture some of our signature wedding photographs for them, and then photographed the Orangery reception room in all its glory ready for guests to dine.
The bestman’s speech was award winning for his animation, enjoyable to listen to, even better to watch. Darren showed and expressed his great happiness to now be able to call Christie his wife, and there was a great sense of excitement for their new adventure not just now as husband and wife, but as new parents with Christie in her second trimester of pregnancy.
As the day light started to fade, and the rain clouds came for a little while and they faded too, the evening celebrations begin. Everyone took to the dance floor with them part way through the first dance and as I left the all continued to do their thing including a few bridesmaid robot dance moves! … yes I saw them, they were fab!
Christie & Darren, I always send my congratulations and all the happiness to couple’s in their new journey together as husband and wife, this time it feels much more. You’ve already got another exciting adventure to look forward to and it’s wonderful to see that you’re soon to have a family of your own. We wish you all the very very best, enjoy this wonderful time of your lives together and the many many years that follow together. xx
Here’s Lisa & Archie, we photographed their wedding two years back now!!
I saw these two cuddled up from over the other side of the lounge ….
