The first big difference to Beks and Richs wedding day to any other that I’ve captured before, is that once I’d woken, I walked out onto the terrace and joined them and their guests for breakfast, charged with the most scrummy coffee and the injection of inspiration from the beautiful views whilst tucking into my muesli I was feeling pretty lucky!
Georgio had been very kind in arranging to get Bek’s dress to be steamed in the village after it’s travel in her case, once it arrived in the morning Beks brought it over to my room along with her shoes and accessories. All the rooms here were fabulous and the light was amazing coming through my windows. It was great to get hold of Richard’s suit and take some ‘before’ shots of it alongside Bek’s dress, I think as much searching for the right suit had gone in as getting the right dress for Bek, it was from Paul Smith, and I was impressed, the inside was as fabby as the outside … is it reversible? .. ha ha!! Anyway after some shots inside, I hid the dress in a duvet cover and snook about the grounds taking some shots of it in the great outdoors.
Bek and Richard had chosen to marry with a more Italian traditional style, I LOVED THAT!! how fabulous, so the really cute bit was the Groom takes the bride’s bouquet and takes it to the bride’s house/room, knocks and then gives the bride the bouquet. So Rich carried Beks bouquet of beautiful sunflowers, came up to her room, knocked and then beamed with happiness as he saw Beks looking all amazing .. (my eyes are now filling up … woo…. I’m not sure if it’s part of the tradition but this part included me stood to the side waiting to capture that moment, I was nervous too as we waited for him to climb the stairs, it was a real moment!).
I then came outside and left them to come down the stairs together to their paparazzi/guests, we then all watched them leave in their Alpha Romeo Spider (hired for them as a surprise by Richard’s brothers). We then all travelled to the pretty town of Pienza where the ceremony took place.
More to come soon … x
